Modern gift box designs are no longer monotonous, with innovative forms emerging one after another. As the most commonly used paper packaging product, the structural form of corrugated boxes has continuously developed and innovated during their application. High-strength corrugated composite boards, as innovative products, have changed the traditional horizontal arrangement structure of corrugated boards to a vertically dense arrangement, enabling them to replace heavy-duty corrugated boards, honeycomb boards, and wooden boards for high-end gift box packaging. They can be regarded as new eco-friendly packaging materials. For paper boxes used as outer packaging for products, enhancing their water resistance is particularly important.

Ordinary conventional corrugated boxes generally have poor water and moisture-proof performance; recycling laminated boxes poses significant challenges and difficulties. However, new recyclable waterproof boxes, by incorporating hydrolyzable resin, significantly improve the water and moisture-proof properties of the boxes. These boxes are also easier to degrade when recycled, making them an ideal alternative to laminated boxes. It can be said that the innovation of modern product packaging structures is shifting from simple sales and transport packaging to functional packaging structures. Moreover, innovative anti-corrosion corrugated box processes have been introduced, where the inner layer of such boxes is coated with special materials allowing items inside to be completely preserved for over 5 years without additional anti-corrosion measures. This function stems from a highly active copper element network that effectively neutralizes corrosive gases.

With the acceleration of China's circular economy, innovations in paper product structures and production techniques will move towards directions beneficial to ecological protection, energy conservation, material saving, cost reduction, economic efficiency, and simplicity. Replacing wood, plastic, glass, and metal with paper will become the mainstream trend in commodity packaging for the present and a considerable time into the future.
